The Wizard of Oz

The Wizard of Oz: A Musical with a Modern Twist

Evenings: July 28,31 · August 1,2,4 · 7:30pm
Matinees: July 29 · August 5 · 2pm
TICKETS $20–25 / students $5

Come along with Dorothy on her adventure from rural Kansas to the magical Land of Oz and back again. This classic musical has been given a fresh look, staying true to the original script, score, and story while making the characters more relatable to contemporary audiences. Set in the present day, our Dorothy is an artistic, misunderstood teen who dreams of a place “over the rainbow” where there isn’t any trouble. Inspired by current teenage art and culture, our production showcases parallels between the classic MGM film and issues that are relevant today.

Northport Adopt-A-Highway Clean-Up

Dear Friends:

For the past 12 years, the Northport Omena Chamber of Commerce has diligently been part of the State of Michigan Adopt-A-Highway program.

Rain or shine we will gather to collect the road right-of-way trash starting at 8 am Saturday May 5th.

If you can make it, please plan to meet at the Covenant Church parking lot at 9 am. Dress for the weather, wear gloves and walking shoes. The pick up route is M22 from the blinker to Casperson Rd and M22 to Johnson Road.

If we have enough people, it shouldn't take more than 1 hour; plus it's good exercise, camaraderie and good work!

Please spread the word all helpers are welcome!

Thank you in advance for helping to keep our portion of M22 clean!

NAA: Chakradance - Meditation Through Movement - Series

With Rebecca Dujanowicz, 7 pm, $15/session or $115 for Series of 8 session

Chakradance is a healing practice of balancing your energy through dance, meditation, visualization and mandala creation.

Class starts with an opening meditation to quiet your minds. Becca will guide each participant through visualization and you will allow your body to move in whatever way feels comfortable. Each week will focus on a different Chakra:
2/21 base/root chakra
2/28 sacral
3/7 solar plexus
3/14 heart
3/21 throat
3/28 3rd eye
4/4 crown
4/11 integration

After completion of chakra focus, we do our mandala art. Each participant draws what comes to their mind. Afterwards, we have a short discussion and closing meditation.
