OHS Classes - Learn the Fascinating Art of Working with Leather

Simply Leather

Native Americans developed great skills in leather craft before the coming of the Europeans. Come make your own hand-crafted leather product just like it has been done for generations.  We will provide the tools (mallets and stamps); you choose the items and the designs, and you will have finished key chains, wrist bands, small coin purses, and more to take home for your personal use - or maybe Christmas in July. Your more ambitious choice could be to make a belt for yourself or a loved one.   This is the second of two sessions.

Class sizes are limited to eight students who are age eight or older.   Classes are $15 for Omena Historical Society members and $20 for non-members plus a $4 materials fee to be paid to the instructor.

Instructor Evy Sussman is a retired special education teacher with thirty years experience supervising summer craft programs, many at Shady Trails Camp.

Registration Deadline: June 20, 2014.  Send registration form & check to Doni Lystra, Omena Historical Society Summer Program, P. O. Box 75, Omena MI 49674.  REGISTER QUICKLY TO BE ASSURED OF YOUR FIRST CHOICE!
