Learn the basics; Love the process... water color classes with an optional en plein air class
Some consider Watercolor, one of the most difficult and frustrating of all art media. Learn to work with, not against, this beautiful paint, with simple techniques that allow the watercolor to do what it does best! The sessions will cover basic composition and techniques reinforced with interactive demonstration and practice (color play!).
Instructor Dawn Russel says “In these workshops I hope to provide and encourage the use of this beautiful, surprising medium as a healing and satisfying process…painting for the fun of it”
This four-morning beginning to intermediate level session is suited to adults who...
· are new to painting, or to watercolor as a medium
· have been frustrated by watercolor and want to try a new approach
· love color and wants another social ‘op’ to paint!
Format
In each of the four morning sessions of three and a half hours, fundamental composition elements and techniques will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced. Most sessions will be held indoors but, weather permitting; we will try to spend some time painting outside.
Note: A fifth, optional half-day session will be offered on August 20. This session will focus on ‘en plein air’ painting, at a nearby location (weather permitting); TBD. A separate charge will be collected for this additional class.
Materials: A list will be provided to registered participants; with prior arrangement, necessary materials can be purchased directly from the instructor.
