Northport Cook's Nook Matcha Tea Class

THIS IS YOUR CHANCE to witness the Japanese tea ceremony, also called the WAY OF TEA. It is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha (抹茶), powdered green tea.

Instructor: Michelle Racich, Dipl. ABT, AOBTA®-CP, is a board certified Asian Bodywork Therapist with the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM); a certified practitioner member of the American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA); a BA graduate from the University of St. Francis; and a graduate of the Blue Lotus School of Shiatsu. She holds the rank of third dan with the American Tae Kwon Do Association (ATA), first dan with the World Martial Arts Federation and American Tae Kwon Do Federation, and was the ATA 2012 and 2014 Michigan state champion in sparring and weapons. Her tea ceremony lineage is of the Shi Dou Ryu Tea School in Japan. Michelle has been practicing and teaching qi cultivation for over 30 years. She maintains a Zen shiatsu clinical practice at Heart of Zen in Suttons Bay, and teaches qigong and martial arts in Leelanau County.

This event takes place at the Trinity Church Fellowship Hall.
