70th Celebration Leelanau Township Community Foundation

The Leelanau Township Community Foundation has been making life better in our area since 1945.  Begun with a $35,000 contribution from Northport Cherry Factory owner Francis Haserot (over $250,000 in today's dollars) the foundation has been a source of support for the arts, culture and History; health and wellness; education recreation, parks and beaches; fire, rescue, library and other township services.

In celebration of their 70th year -- as the third oldest community foundation in Michigan -- they're celebrating with a parade that starts on Eighth Street at 2:30 p.m. and reception following in Haserot Park. Come join in the fun, learn about the many non-profits who have received grants from the foundation and how that's affected their work in the community.
